The edge of your plaque or sign can basically be described by how your product looks from the side, as different to how it looks from front-on (see the ‘Borders’ section for more info). A variety of edge designs are available.
The most commonly used edges for Lawn Markers are as follows. These edges are only available on a selected range of sizes:
Other commonly used edges are the Raised Edge, Bevelled Linished Edge, Bevelled Painted Edge and Plain Cut Edge. These edges can be applied to all sized plaques and as a standard come on a plaque approx 1/4″ in depth.
Many of the above edges (apart from the Bevel Painted, Bevel Linished and Sculptured Book Edges) allow the addition of a design border to further enhance the plaque or sign. The border is the design that will surround your plaque or sign. It will be raised above the background surface of your product. There are basically two types of borders that you can use for your plaque or sign: Standard (Raised) Borders and Design Borders.
These designs are simple solid borders with a variety of corner designs
These designs are more intricate and are suitable for matching with the theme of the plaque or sign
To help you with your design decisions, suggested border widths (for either Raised or Design Borders) are:
Plaque Size | Border Width |
Up to 4″ x 4″ | 1/8″ |
Up to 12″ x 12″ | 1/4″ – 1/2″ |
Above 12″ x 12″ | 1/2″ |
